I haven't been posting anything much lately in these past months. As you can see in the news, there's quite a ruckus going on in Thailand...
I guess that doesn't affect the art performance that much, but moving on. I just finished my architecture internship. I had a great time with those folks, and I hope to see them again. It was an awesome one month experience.
I've been building model kits. Since I can't take them with me to North America, I have no choice but to finish as much as I could, so there's that.
Last but not least, I've been absorbing some inspiration from Asian literature for my comic, particularly cult films, alternative mangas, and art in general.
I've read "Uzumaki," really great surreal-horror manga. I heard they have a live-action film as well, but it's terrible. Then I'm trying to get into Haruki Murakami's "Norwegian Wood," and I'm finishing it up soon. It's been 6 months since I've start reading it.
As for the films, aside from the mainstream ones in the past few days, I saw "Visitor Q," very symbolic but disturbing. I've got "Funky Forest," "House," "Tokyo Godfathers," and "Mind Game" waiting for me.
Also, I saw the anime "Mushishi." It's beautiful, and it's a fantasy genre setting in rural Japan. If you're into spiritual stuff like Okami or Princess Mononoke, then this anime's just for you.
Hope to upload more updates soon. Let's catch up!
