originally meant to be a tavern scene with a bit of character interaction, instead it evolved into something completely different. oh what fun it was to set up the lower half of her body to not even have it be seen.
a great deal of experementation with translucency, opacity, and reflective surfaces took place here. as well as the refaction of light through the liquid in her glass. not a total success i would say. i also made certain to only have a single light source in the image. the candle was given a bit of pooint light hovering just above (and in front of) the flame, so as to make it seem she has only that light. as such a great deal of effort went into not creating any reflective surfaces which included backlighting.
it was also the first time i used the raytracing settings for shadows during rendering. oh the pain and horror as i was forced to watch the craft waiting for it to finish.
