This is a shocking amount of detail! Many DDs are very questionable on this website, but this one surely isn't. How long were you sitting on this piece?
The visual quality of it stands above any doubts. But it's content is highly fascinating. It's interesting to see that powerful character having fully failed and seemingly died in a battle beyond any epicness, taking a look at the massive damage on her suit. This incredible artwork lets me once more hope, that one day there will be a Metroid movie, since the rights for that have already been purchased by some major film studie many years ago. This scene you created here gives me lots of imagination about the incredible battles that could happen in the movie. And personally, why must there always be a happy end? Your picture shows everything but a good end, but it looks so freaking epic, that it still seems like a satsifying end of a possible movie. Grade A+++ artwork, really!

Thank you for your comment. I'm so glad that you thought my work to be the a scene out of a movie.
Surely, Samus loves her job "bounty hunting" and she is completely under the spell of its charm.
Simultaneously、she is afraid of it and also hopes the opening of the spell.
Of course, it has the same meaning as DEATH for her.
In that sense, this may be a HAPPY ending.
# Someday I also want to see METROID movie!
# It took about half a year to paint this work.

It does indeed look like a half year of work. I am a damned perfectionist, often investing more time than healthy, but still I am not sure if I could go with the impressive patience you have proven there. No matter what, it paid off, because it is an epic artwork, that could very well be the official movie poster for a Metroid movie - even though possibly spoilering =3
And seeing your little explanation there, that would give some space for very deep character development, a character being torn apart by being in between of being pro or con of her whole life. Good lord, if a Metroid movie would ever be done, and then also done RIGHT, this could be the movie of the decade. Sadly, Hollywood produces a lot more stupid popcorn-crap than actually well thought through films with deepness and a sense of meaning. Such projects should always be lead by true fans, not by financially driven people, who just smell a quick shot of money.

Well, still very beautiful, but seeing her zoomed out in the actual background, ramps up the depressing feeling to this quite a good bit.
It's just her, in the emptiness of space. Gives the feeling that she's just nothing, like the rest of the wrecked equipment/ship in the background. Much more powerful seeing her here with everything else, if you ask me.
Lovely work, and it really deserved the DD.
