DeviantMEET in San Francisco!On Saturday, February 18th, Heidi, mattdanna, thesmallwonder, draweverywhere, and I headed up north to San Francisco, California for our Seven Deadly Sins deviantMEET. We were there to celebrate Anarki3000's winning work from the Seven Deadly Sins contest, recreated as a billboard -- and we have to say, it looked amazing!

Unfortunately, Anarki3000 couldn't make it, due to difficulties receiving a passport and visa in time for the trip. As hard as we tried, the Romanian embassy couldn't process his paperwork quickly enough. Though he couldn't be there in person, we celebrated with him in spirit. By the time 2:30 came around, we already had over a hundred deviants packed into our tiny parking lot!
Each deviant in attendance received a Trollface knapsack full of deviantART swag, including a deviantWEAR t-shirt, stickers, stressball, and a complete set of bumper stickers, featuring all seven finalists of the Seven Deadly Sins contest.

After mingling around the billboard, we headed to Yerba Buena Gardens to keep the deviousness rolling. It was a gorgeous afternoon for hanging out at the park. Deviants created new works of art, collaborated with others, took photos, and shared their sketchbooks.

After awhile, draweverywhere commandeered the group to announce a game of exquisite corpse, which is not as morbid as you may think. The game starts by folding a piece of paper into thirds, representing three sections -- a head/top, a body/middle, and legs/bottom. Each participant was to draw one section, then pass the paper to another to continue the piece by drawing the next section, but without knowledge of what the previous person drew.

As the end of the day drew near, it was time to say goodbye. With over 180 deviants in attendance, our San Francisco deviantMEET was a huge success!
We hope that everyone who attended had an excellent time meeting staff, hanging out with fellow deviants, and sharing in our common love of art. If there are any deviantMEETs in your area, we encourage you to go to one! It's a great time to hang out with new friends. Not to mention, we've been known to bring swag bags for all attendees.
