Hey, I've been a fan of your work for some time, and I really want you to receive full credit for all of the things you publish, but dA isn't as safe as we thought it was. I described it more throughly in my journal:  I won't post art on dA and you shouldn't either.Alternatively titled "[Baldi voice] GET OUT WHILE YOU STILLL CANNNN!!!!"
If you're like me, trying to read Terms & Conditions is like trying to read a foreign language. Sadly, some companies use that as a way to sneak things past the radar. The following is from a Tumblr post explaining the situation:
6. Payment Unless otherwise agreed between Artist and deviantART in a writing from deviantART, the license granted to deviantART under this Agreement is royalty-free.[...]
3. License To Use Artist Materials. As and when Artist Materials are uploaded to the DeviantArt Site(s), Artist grants to DeviantArt a worldwide, royalty-free, non-exclusive license to do the following things during the Term:
a) to prepare and encode Artist Materials or any part of them for digital or analog transmission, manipulation and exhibition in any format and by any means now known or not yet known
I'm really sorry to bring such bad news so close to the holidays
