Description
Summer (seasons)
Stained Glass, roughly 24"x36"
October 2010
After having done a number of Mucha-inspired windows, I decided to branch out and try my hand at my own designs, inspired by the Mucha/Art Noveau style, but from scratch, not directly connected to anyone elses work. You may recognie Catherine from some of the drawings on here; the plan is to do all four seasons along the same lines. (see also Springtime: [link] )
Like the others, this is a colaborative piece. My Dad owns a Stained Glass Studio www.stainedglassstudiostpeter.com in Minnesota; I do the design work and some of the color selection and send it to him; he'll cut it and send me the pieces that need to be painted, which he'll have to fire in the shop. When it's all done, he'll assemble and solder the finished piece. It's a good system, but it would be nice if I could just walk in and do things in person. But hey, that's what holidays are for, right??
[[oh, btw, I'll try to get a better pic from my own camera next time I'm in the shop. The glass really isnt THAT orange haha]]
..........EDIT..........
New photo of the window! also, more new stuff to come shortly
