This is a copy paste from an announcement  in the forums done by ID:

"Over the past week or so Mihari has been battling with a virus we found inside the katbox server. This virus among causing performance problems has been installing mailing scripts and sending out spam all over the internet. It took a whole year for it to become a major issue leading to our katbox emails being blocked by a number of websites. .

Dealing with this has cost us valuable time and delayed our site upgrades.

We've contacted Liquidweb for support and despite making a good effort they are unfortunately out of options other than run Linux Malware detect to try to sniff out the source of the infection. Failing that the Katbox will have to be taken down indefinitely to be reinstalled from scratch.

We aren't sure where we picked this up from. Mihari has shown me evidence that this infection hitched a ride from when we did our server transfer last year. Beyond that we have no way of knowing where it came from.

I'll be frank this isn't something that Mihari has dealt with before and I'm no server guy. We're treading new ground here. I'm extremely worried about something going wrong. On top of that we just got done raising a lot of money for the katbox. If we didn't have over 10 years of reputation as a stand-up place this would look shady as fuck to a lot of people. Raising a ton of money, taking the funds and running off with it.

So I'm going to do my best to be transparent as possible throughout this process. If you haven't already please follow the twitter account Katbox_Comics for updates on the situation. You can find me at Mistr_Id as well, and I will answer any questions to the best of my ability.

As soon as I'm done posting this I'll be opening a support ticket with LiquidWeb and asking for a backup of the site which we will revert to if things go completely belly up. I'd rather have a virus riddled site than none at all.

Katbox.net will be going down within the next day or so. Please keep in touch with our social media accounts for updates and an ETA.

Thank you for your understanding and we will hopefully see you on the other side of this."

Hello everyone!

Well being a adult makes organizing parties a real chore. The neighbor union decided that we are no longer able to have BBQs at our place so my usual way to celebrate is unavvaiable until they change their mind.

So i had no other choice but to try to get all my friends to meet at an Applebee's this saturday, since everyone has their own jobs and schedules it is quite hard to find a time and date where all of us can actually meet in person. Kinda miss the days when just meeting with your friends was easy.

Other than that i am doing great. I am mostly done with commissions and Patreon rewards. I only got a couple of rewards from the donation drive to pay for my sister's hospital bills and a long term comic commission project that is half done for now. So things are going well in that regard.

Thanks for reading this little status update, i havent' done one in months. I apologize for that.

Want to follow me? You can on…

I have some cool stuff over at my Patreon .
Want to read some stellar comics? Then head on over to The Eye of Ramalach and Tina of the South. Also, feel free to head on over to the Katbox Forums to enjoy more art and comic discussions.

Hi,

So next week, we will be making a small change on the donation stream for Sunday, March 6th.

We will be auctioning a comic page from the following authors Chalo, Mastergodai, Avencri, Skidd and Phuufy.

So the rules are simple.

Tomorrow at 2 PM CST, will make 4 posts to start the auctions, each once refering to each author.

The rules are as follows:

1) DO NOT DEPOSIT ANY MONEY UNTIL YOU ARE CONTACTED THAT YOU WON THE AUCTION AND THAT THE ARTIST HAS GIVEN THE GOOD TO GO. AGAIN, DO NOT DEPOSIT ANY MONEY UNTIL THEN.

2) The comic page itself will be of 3 to 5 panels with 1 to 3 characters.

3) The starting bid will be of 200 USD, with increments of min 25 USD and a buy out of 700 USD.

4) There will be a special 2 page option if the you choose to grab the golden medal buy out of 1000 USD.

5) In the case of Phuufy and Skidd, Phuufy will provide the art and Skidd the inks.

5) NSFW is fine however the artist reserve the right to deny any idea if they are not comfortable with it. In the case of Phuufy and Skidd, the NSFW cannot be with Uberquest with Original Characters.

And thats it!

Have fun and good luck to everyone!

Well... in the middle of a stream my Cintiq 12WX stopped working. Just as sudden as it sounds.

Reinstalling the drivers didn't do a thing. Neither the pen nor the eraser of the stylus is registered and the "LED sensor" doesn't shine. This seems to imply it is a hardware issue with the pen and it should be replaced. I got no issues at all in getting a new pen.

My problem is getting the pen itself. I live in Mexico and Wacom doesn't ship here, so i will have to ask a friend to make the order and then resent the pen to me. All of that adding extra costs. This isn't that bit of an issue either.

My big problem is that i got no way of knowing if the faulty thing is my pen or tablet. All the local perople i know have different or newer models so i can't ask for a pen to test. If i get a new pen and after the whole ordeal i described turns out that the pen is ok and the tablet is the one with issues i would be frustrated at the waste of money and time.

"Intuos3 SE Grip Pen" is the tipe of stylus i need test. If someone else's stylus works i can completely be sure that my pen is faulty and needs to be replaced. I just wish this would be easy to do, but as i said, i know nobody with that model.

I guess i am frustrated and venting...i need to test my old bamboo to see if i can keep working in the meantime.

Hello everyone!

Well i was looking for an excuse to make a new journal since the last one was from a very long time ago. XD

I just wanted to share some of my other accounts in case you were interested in following!!

Fur Affinity-  www.furaffinity.net/user/avenc…

I got basically the same content here as in Weasyl but i am way more active there!

Weasyl- www.weasyl.com/~avencri

I got basically the same content here as in FA but i am trying to be more active to follow some artists that left FA for good.

Tumblr- avencri.tumblr.com/

I reblog a lot of tutorials, comic updates for other webcomics and plenty of silly stuff. This is also where i get the "Asks" for my characters that i post from time to time. So if you want to ask anything to me or any of the characters feel free to drop your question. It is very likely that i will end up making a comic reply. ^^

Deviant Art- avencri.deviantart.com/

My original gallery... semi active. Almost everyone i know stopped using it but there are still some activity here.

Patreon- www.patreon.com/Avencri?ty=h

My patreon page for those that wish to contribute. All my finished pieces are avaiable to the public.

Picarto- www.picarto.tv/live/channel.ph…

Where i do the streams of commissions, silly doodles and the webcomics. Always good to have new people here!

Twitter- twitter.com/avencri

I type a lot here, plenty of silly jokes, news, my thoughts and LOTS of passing the word on webcomic updates for those interested.

And of course both of my webcomics.

The Eye of Ramalach- theeye.katbox.net/

A horror/adventure story set in an urban setting.

Tina of the South!- tinaofthesouth.katbox.net/

A silly old west comic with lots of cheesecake.

Hello everyone. It took me a bit but i got several news.

This particular update this huge because it is actually two weeks worth of content that i had to set back due to a whole set of reasons that messed up the schedule of my comics. Working on a newspaper you prepare notes in advance, but then you got really important news that come out of nowhere (they basically caught THE drug leader in Mexico) and then you get another death in your family. I had to leave everything aside and travel back to my hometown to help my parents with all the funerary plans. Anyways, i made a huge page with the content of the lost week to make up for it.

In other very important news. I have also opened a Patreon account for The Eye of Ramalach: www.patreon.com/Avencri

The account is set  based on my comic updates, not on a monthly basis. So the whole funding will only be received after i post an update of The Eye of Ramalach. Which is now set up to be a bi monthly comic. This basically means that The Eye will be posted every two weeks from now on.

As you can see, the new updates of Tina of the South have been set up as a milestone within the site. So the donation button for new pages will be gone from Katbox and new updates of Tina of the South will be achieved via Patreon.

The Tina of the South milestone is divided into two pieces. A $75 milestone that will pay for 2 updates of Tina of the South per month, and a $125 goal which will allow me to post every week. My plan is to have Tina of the South and The Eye of Ramalach alternate when at the $75 goal.

Thanks for reading guys!

Hello everyone!

Just noticing that i am about to open 4 commission spots.

Digital Colors with Abstract Background
$ 50.00
These take more time for me to make, and same as the inked piece. I won't move forward until the client approves the sketch.

Digital Colors with Background
$ 70.00
The more elaborate ones and the ones that take more time (around 8 hours just in coloring). Same description applies from the previous one.

Inked Piece
$ 25.00
These are also kind of quick for me. But on these i do take more time to make them look good and wait for the approval of the client after i make the sketch and before i even ink.

B/W Sketch
$ 10.00
These are really quick, i literally do these in a couple of hours and you can just ask any of the KB staff in here. I don't really do much check ups on these and most of the time i do none at all.

Colored Sketches
$ 20.00
Same deal as the sketches from before, but these do take a couple more of hours. These are still fairly quick and i don't do much check up either.

I usually ask for $5.00 for each additional character in an image (from the inked one to the digital ones). $3.00 for the additional one on the sketches.

You can send me notes or emails if you are interested in anything.

For the moment i only accept on paypal. And the payment is done this way: you pay for half the commission at the start, and when i deliver the final part i get the other half. This way it is easier for me to pay back if the client changes his mind or decides to cancel the commission.

I just wanted to let you know that The Eye and Tina of the South will return on the 14th of October. My job's been really demanding, but I just wanted to let you know that I'm alive and am trying my best to get back to doing the comics I love. If all goes well, I'll be doing the next page of TEoR.

Thank you for your patience, I really appreciate it.

You can send me notes or emails if you are interested in anything.

For the moment i only accept on paypal. And the payment is done this way: you pay for half the comission at the start, and when i deliver the final part i get the other half. This way it is easier for me to pay back if the client changes his mind or decides to cancel the comission.
