Real Disney Character Faces by Avalonis Real Disney Character Faces by Avalonis
These are what Disney characters would look like if they were real. Lots of references (see if you can spot some famous features). Lots of manipulations and perfecting until I got the right features and made them real enough looking.

If some don't look exactly like the characters, well cut me some slack, there's not a lot of people out there that look like some of the more ridiculously proportioned Disney characters (Hercules, Cruella, villains etc). Also, I made them as realistic as possible. See if you can guess who is who...
If not....

From top left to right, then next rows:
Rapunzel, Flynn Rider, Mother Gothel, Tiana, Charlottle LaBouffe, Esmeralda, Frollo, Quasimodo, Giselle, Jane, Tarzan,
Cinderella, Belle, Prince Adam (The Beast), Gaston, Jafar, Mulan, Alice, Jasmine, Aladdin, Aurora, Prince Philip, Maleficent, Cruella Deville, Meg, Hercules, Pocahontas, Snow White, The Evil Queen, Ariel, Prince Eric, Ursula

Hope you enjoy. Comments are appreciated.

***Update: Check out the work of Ian Armstrong, from Imperative Ideas, who created a VERY cool interactive map of these characters:

For Prince Adam, you really could just use Dan Stevens from the movie. He looks identical.

Think you'd be willing to make a larger version of these characters? Also, whos faces did you use to make Charlottle LaBouffe?

I figured out every single one of them on my own except Meg and Hercules. the eye color of Aurora and Esmeralda is just gorgeous, very accurate too. I love the way you did Snow White too, in my mind, that is how she's supposed to look...but everyone gets it wrong

Well, I was able to recognise only 4-5 faces:thinking:
I see that faces of real people were put on other faces, but their editing is not good enough, because I see hair under upper faces on some picturesPuppydog Eyes
I do not understand why this work is so popular and why people adore it so muchShocked
There are also some other very great pictures on "DeviantArt" that deserve such attention, but people just ignore themSad dummy

While I can see how a lot of the female characters look similar, we do have to realize the Disney cartoon characters don't really have a variety of facial features either. Break them down, they all look alike. It's the result of having "cartoon characters". But you can also see strong features that do represent the characters, so I'd say this was done quite well. And to be honest, a lot of Disney princesses are basic blank white ladies.

I agree with everyone commenting about how they all look the same. All the women have the same facial shape, nose, mouth, eyes, expression, just very slight variations. And they don't show personality. Makes it seem that "as realistic as possible" means: absolutely average caucasian model blank face with no traces of individuality or soul whatsoever because it would look too "cartoony" apparently. Sorry but it's really frustrating to look at, makes me want to make my own versions of "realistic disney characters" but can the world really take more of that?

...Do you somehow not see the clearly Asian and Indian characters?  "Absolutely average Caucasian model" my royal booty, you clearly are blatantly ignoring the features characteristic of the countries of each character's origin.  The Indian skin tone and bone structure on Jafar, the Asian eye shape on Mulan, the definitive jawline on Esmeralda, the distinctive Native-American features on Pocahontas...
Get over yourself and take a closer look.  There are obviously some similarities because of the typical standards of beauty each princess is designed to, but overall I think the artist did a fantastic job at making them recognizable and extraordinarily accurate to their cartoon selves whilst still managing to be realistic.  Sure their skin tones could be a bit more varied, but you recognized each of them, didn't you?  Additionally, as an end question, have you ever looked at a celebrity face closeup picture or even a school photo?  With only a few exceptions, the vast majority have the same expression.  A smile.  They vary on how much teeth they show, but aside from that, there isn't much more room for personality on a simple face shot.  That is, unless you want to use lighting or different perspectives.  These were clearly not intended to be standalone art pieces, they were intended to depict a character.  They have done that, and quite well.

Yes, I see those features, but I think they're waaay too subtle. When you look at the overall image without focusing on the faces you can't tell that there's anyone of different ethnies there, apart from some of the male characters and the villains who stand out more. But the girls are too much all alike. It's not only about the skin tones... even the cartoon versions of the characters show more variance in shapes and features. They're all quite distinctive, unlike these.

I do recognize most of them, yes, but also some of them I wouldn't know if I didn't read the names list... and just being "recognizable" isn't the only important point, for me, but it would be interesting to really see the character there, you know? Their uniqueness. I disagree with you that there's no room for personality on a face shot! It can be something in the eyes, the way they look at you, the curve of the eyebrows, the smile... as I said, they all have the same mouth, nose, eyes, eyebrows, face shape, with just very slight differences as if they're all morphs from one another. The proportions are all about the same.
Tiana needs a wider nose; Pocahontas, stronger jawlines and a different mouth shape; Mulan should have a rounder face, etc.

There's an artist called Jirka Vinse Jonatan Väätäinen who made "realistic versions" of the princesses and villains and they turned out great, perhaps you've seen it around. I know it's a different approach but just to provide a reference of how you can make realistic versions of them whithout losing their characteristic features and personalities. They all look very different from one another.

Anyway I didn't intend to shit on this person's work (though it seems that the user is not even active here), it was meant as an honest criticism, I just think it could be so much better and fun...

Tiana would likely benefit from being a few shades darker, and Pocahontas looks like someone other than Pocahontas, but the rest look pretty good for the most part.

On a side note, would the pic of which Flynn was shooped from be from a picture of Robert Pattinson?

Not a fan of how almost all of these characters look the exact same. Disney princesses aren't supposed to look the same as each other. Even if these aren't the exact same rendition of the characters, some variety would have been wonderful.
