The Government of the Republic of Udmurtia has allocated 1 million rubles to create the first full-length animated film in anime style, based on Udmurt folk legends. It will be called “Nylash no Vumurt” ("The Girl and Waterman”). It will be created by well-known artists from Japan and Udmurtia. Minister of Culture of Udmurtia hopes that cartoon in the fashionable style of anime will attract young people to the study the Udmurt culture.

Правительство Удмуртской Республики выделило 1 млн рублей на создание первого полнометражного анимационного фильма в стиле аниме по мотивам удмуртских народных легенд. Оно будет называться “Нылаш но Вумурт” (“Девушка и Вумурт”). Над его созданием будут работать известные художники Японии и Удмуртии. Министр культуры Удмуртии надеется, что мультфильм в модном стиле аниме сможет привлечь молодежь к изучению удмуртской культуры.
