Hi. I know I haven’t posted anything here in a long time. I’ve been dealing with some pretty major medical issues.

About 9 years ago I was diagnosed with Ehlers-Danlos Syndrome (right after the birth of my daughter). It’s genetic, so I’ve had it since birth (which explains all my weird health issues and frequent injuries my whole life) but after my pregnancy the symptoms became bad enough to finally lead to a diagnosis. I’ve spent the last almost-decade living with pretty much constant chronic pain and other intermittent symptoms, trying to find knowledgeable doctors (which is a challenge), and just overall learning how to manage the condition.

I was finally getting to a more manageable place healthwise about 2 years ago, when I suddenly developed some new, still-unexplained symptoms that were completely debilitating (itchy, painful lesions across my entire body). My doctors still have no clue what is causing this (just a few vague theories, possibly allergy-related) but I’m finally seeing some improvement after some trial and error at different solutions.

This has been the most difficult few years of my life. It’s hard to describe what it feels like to basically have your life on hold for years, not knowing when/if that situation is ever going to end. I wasn’t able to draw at all for the last 2 years, and very little in the few years prior to that. But I’m slowly starting to get bits of my life back. I have a massive to-do list to catch up on and am still dealing with a lot of medical appointments and treatments, but I’m desperate to do some art again and I really hope I’ll be able to start posting stuff again soon!

P.S. Obviously I’m not attending any conventions in the near future. I hope to at least return to CatCon again at some point, but I need my health to be more stable first, as I just don’t have the energy right now and really can’t risk flaring up my immune system with something like Covid at the moment. My Patreon and my online shop are also obviously on hiatus at the moment but I hope to restart those again eventually.
