Photo was taken during a period of extended drought on one of the hottest weeks of the year, with temperatures reaching over 110F. The drought had lasted so long that the only source of water this hive of bees could find where from our potted plants. We've never had bee's swarm like this before, and this is how we knew the drought had gotten bad. We purposely kept the plants trays filled with water during the rest of the heat wave and made extra safe watering stations for the bees as well.
