Fabric Painting Tutorial by AussieMum Fabric Painting Tutorial by AussieMum
originally posted in CGPAD [link]

very simple, quick tutorial on how i paint fabric. any questions, leave a comment. i will answer you. i did this in photoshop, but the same principle will apply in any fabric painting situation...except instead of using dodge, use white or if your using lead pencils - your kneeded eraser.

stock i used was from the lovely: :icondove-stock:

What brush do you usually use and on what setting? That's always my dilema. Good tut though!

hi! gosh its been a while since this tutorial. if you go google Enayla's Brushes, I use the character and fabric brush set of hers...then i use the Rough Round brush for large fills like the blue (80% opacity, 36% flow with pen pressure set) and the number 46 spackle brush for blending. the spackle is a BRILLAINT brush, and it comes already as a default brush with photoshop. :)

Pretty good tutorial overall. I never knew the highlights themselves can make that big of a difference.

And references are indeed invaluable.

cheers darl. ooh yeh, the highlights are what make that whole realism thing work. well for me anyways. i always feel the material looks flat if i dont put in the lights.

referances  dont leave home without em. lol
