Okay so I haven't posted for a little while. apologies!!!
So a lot has happened in the past few months and I have been severely inactive and have had a huge artblock.
First of all: Japan was amazing!!! The culture was so beautiful and people were super friendly and helpful. We went to Osaka, Hiroshima + Miyajima, Kyoto, Tokyo and Sendai.
Osaka and Sendai were definitely my 2 favourites out of the cities we visited. Osaka seemed quieter and a lot easier to understand the trains. Plus Osaka castle was out first castle and was my favourite. Everything about it was just beautiful.
We visited Hiroshima twice, since we both really wanted to see it! It was beautiful and devastating how much the bomb had impacted the city. The A-Bomb dome, sadly, was covered in scaffolding when we visited to make sure everything was safe. Hiroshima castle was really beautiful as well and had some nice history to it. Even mention of Sanada Yukimura and Date Masamune. hehehhehhehehhehehe.
Miyajima we also visited for a few hours. Shrine Island as it's referred to. The island was so beautiful and had a really calming and peaceful aura to it. the tori gate in the water was spectactular, but sadly we couldn't stay long enough to see the shrine floating in the water
there were a lot of deer roaming around the island as well, trying to steal food and eat peoples clothing haha.
Kyoto we spent a week in and the cherry blossoms were in full bloom. It was absolutely stunning, but unfortunately we were there when it was school holidays. So wherever we went it was super busy! We didn't see many Geisha's, sadly, since a lot of them don't like to b harrassed or photographed by tourists (which is fair enough) The temples and shopping centers in Kyoto were really awesome as well!! So much history and beauty.
Tokyo was far too busy for me, but I enjoyed it regardless. We ate at Mcdonalds a lot since it was cheap and there was a lot of seafood around (and sadly my friend and I aren't big seafood fans xP) We visited Akihabara and Harajuku, the 2 most popular sights in Tokyo. Akihabara we were slightly disappointed by since a lot of our friends told us it was anime based, but there was a lot of technology and computer things there. A few anime shops here and there aha. Harajuku was really nice and the clothing shops there were amazing! But very expensive hahaha. We both spent a lot on dresses....
Sendai was definitely my favourite place. It was where the Feudal Lord; Date Masamune resided and was the first to unite Sendai! Learning about him and Sendai's history was really special to me. I almost cried I was so happy <3
Our last week was spent in Tokyo again and then 2 days in the Disneyland resort. We stayed in the Beauty and the Beast suite and it was well worth the $600 a night... but no wifi! hahaha.
The parks were really nice but very tiring as well. The wait for the rides were long so we didn't go on many of them. But we still had a great time wandering around and getting ourselves lost in the moments.
Japan was so great and so much fun! I couldn't wait to get home and tell everything to my (now ex) boyfriend! I was so happy to see him after not seeing him for a month. We drove home, i unpacked and fell asleep. Little did I know he had some not very nice news to tell me.
The day after I returned from Japan, I saw my mum and sister, gave them their souvenirs and told them all about Japan. We then went to his mums place and I gave them their souvenirs, told them all about Japan and we headed home.
Then he tells me he wants to leave me and go back to his ex girlfriend.... He had been seeing her while I was in Japan and they had agreed to get back together, all he needed to do was break the news to me and everything would be hunky dory. Right?
I told him how much I loved him and that he shouldnt do this.... but now that I look back on everything that had happened... if I did stay with him he would just sneak off and see her anyway. It's better this way and now Karma will play its part and bite them both in the ass.
Because of this, I lost all motivation for drawing and pushed myself into a shell... I didn't want to open up to anyone and I felt like I was second best the entire time (which I practically was)
It's taken me 3 months to get back into the groove of things and unfortunately my trust and faith in men has been tainted because of this experience. No girl ever wants to be second best, let alone find out she had been cheated on for an ex that broke the heart of the guy they were with.
Well I'm finally myself again and hopefully I can find it within myself to start posting more art and maybe get myself back out there. But I'm happy being single for now!!
All I need now is a French Bulldog and a great job!!
