Symbolic Christmas Tree by ausrejurke Symbolic Christmas Tree by ausrejurke
Newspapers, cardboard, notebook paper, gardener's thread, office glue.
Newspaper strips rolled into tubes, then tied together using thread. The tubes are glued to the paper covered cardboard base. The thread design is based on traditional Baltic art.

One day an idea of a Christmas tree popped-up in my mind. It was sort of a minimalistic, modernistic version - thin long tubes making triangular (or rather cone) shape. And I already had all materials, which could be used to make it.
BUT one thing is to dream something, the other is to actually make it :D
I ran into multiple difficulties, just because I didn't have some of the tools (ruler or measuring tape, callipers, protractor) or anyone to help me and hold things in place while I tie them.
So I ended up compromising with my idea and ended up this version. I am not 100% happy about it, it doesn't look very good from up close, but it looks pretty nice from afar. I was thinking to do something more on a top, so it could be pointy. But ended up not doing it, because I wasn't able to think of anything, which would complement the current version and not ruin it. (And I also ran out of glue.)
