Bright Eyes

I lost the "sparkle" long before high school. In place of the former sparkle, I hold a distorted radiance; a reflection of fear.

Of course, my reasons for not having kids are a bit different. For one thing, I would never be fit to raise a child; I do not possess the necessary patience, tenacity, or even the willingness to commit to something that essentially consumes my individual freedom.

That, and the world doesn't need more children. We need to focus on nurturing the ones that are already here.
