Hey folks, it's that time of year again when we begin taking submissions for our conbook!
**What is a convention book?**
A convention book, or conbook for short, is a booklet detailing the weekend and a survival guide provided to all of our attendees. Within its pages are articles, artwork and advertisements provided by you guys. It's essentially a booklet by you for you.
**What will we publish?**
We're looking for interesting artwork and articles relating to the event.
We're looking for articles that in some way deal with anime/manga/Japan/cosplay (etc) - whether it's a personal experience or factual. Essentially, anything that's related to what the event celebrates! Opinion articles are great, but ultimately try and grab the readers attention. Keep it interesting and concise - don't waffle! We're limiting articles to a maximum of 1500 words, which should work out at roughly 3/4 pages. Feel free to write less though.
For artwork, we are discouraging fan-art and original characters. We would be very interested in seeing what you can produce using the theme of 'Scotland meets Japan'. Use landmarks of Scotland, our mascots Klay and Lochi - be creative! We're expecting some great work from you lot. Please send all artwork in 300dpi or higher and as .png format to ensure highest quality when printing.
Please only send original work - no stealing!
All articles and artwork should be sent to us at:
conbook@auchinawa.org.uk
Additionally, if you are interested in placing an advert in the conbook, please contact us at the above address for more details and pricing.
Finally, if you're stuck for ideas and looking for a spark of inspiration, look no further than our 2008 conbook, which is available here:
