Atori-e

Hey deviant world, I'm the artist of ATORI-E.

Atori-e is a two human (male + female) project that is realised in our spare time. Generally, we are working with different media like video, digital painting, photography, etc., but at the moment our focus lies on (short-)comics and illustrations. Atori-e started a few years ago when we were both still wet behind our ears and had no real grasp on what we were actually doing. As university students with a humanities and cultural science background and further academic experience in the fields of film studies, when it comes to practical skills we are mostly self-taught. But what we were certain of was that we wanted to tell stories, because frankly, we just love good stories, no matter whether it‘s a movie, a book, a manga or a game. So we knew we had to choose a medium that we were able to handle on our own. After some years of fiddling around with different kinds of media and many trails and errors, we opted for comics. In the past few years we tried to improve our skill set, whilst working on a big story arc. Now, we are getting to the point where we are able to tell the first short story of our little universe and are currently working on the storyboard.
