El Capitan Icon Set 1

Can't change an icon on El Capitan? Here's why and how to disable it.

El Capitan has been programmed with something called "Rootless". A system integrity protection system that locks down system files important for the OS to boot and run like it should. App Store is a part of those apps that is important to the overall system, much like iTunes. (Removing iTunes makes your Mac unbootable). Rootless was developed for El Capitan to prevent accidental or intentional changing of system files. It also won't let virus infested Mac's to temper with your system files.

I have found a way to disable rootless, but I would only advise you to do this if you know what your are doing. I will not stand responsible for anything that may happen to your Mac with this process.

1. Shut down your Mac.
2. Turn it on again and hold cmd + R until you see the Apple logo.
3. On the menubar, click on Utilities -> Terminal
4. type in the following: csrutil disable
5. Reboot into your Mac and you should now be able to change any app's icon that you may not have been able to before.

To enable rootless follow the same steps up until 4 and write: csrutil enable
I highly advise you to change your icon and re-enable rootless right away.

My new set of round icons made to fit more in the dock along side the new Apple Music icon.

I'm also working on a easy-to-edit .psd file which I will add into the .zip file once it's complete. This .psd file will let everyone easily edit a similar icon, change gradient or inner icon symbol. Please stay tuned for this to be complete.

Enjoy the icons!
