Judging from some "official" illustrations from Macross 7, that I saw. I think the Macross factories are man made because the structure and aesthetics aren't organic like the Zentraedis.
One thing I don't like about the Human fleet in the Macross series is that it's still incomparable to a Zentran fleet. Ships are still small, can still be outclass, out gunned, and still not in a million units.

Hello:
Oh wow, that is something I didn't know. But with the ever crazier designs they make, it might make sense (also that the captured Sattellite was damaged).
You are not the only one that has those same problems. A friend of mine, and myself too, are of the exact same opinion. That makes me see why UN Spacy wants to evade any contact at all... but yes, human fleets are terribly outgunned and outclassed

But from the movie Macross, Love Do You Remember(my old betamax version, or was it VHS?) At the end, as the subtitles said(i'm basing my reasoning from the subtitles), Exedore explained something like- there are 1 million fleet in the Galaxy. Those 1 million fleet contains 4 million individual ships. And every fleet has a Bodolzed class main base, one would surmised.
I do not think that that kind out production output can be produce by just one Factory satellite.
I used to argue with my old friend(Warhammer fan) that 1 or 2 Zentran fleet(in millions) can easily wipe clean the Tyranid horde off the Galaxy.
It's probably economics. Humans in the series are still practically an endangered specie. And resources are scares most likely.

Hello:
Yes, I do remember that scene too, although there were like 1000 fleets. That still gives a hugely overwhelming number of ships, soldiers. But still, one can really fail to grasp how big our galaxy really is.
You are right! There has to be more factory satellites out there
.
Ohh... sadly I do have a Warhammer/Battlefleet Gothic fan friend, but he doesn't know almost nothing of Macross (he knows because of my 3d models). But that discussion could have been quite fun
.
Even with the captured technologies, you are right that humans cannot risk having more confrontations, even if they are already colonizing many owrlds in the galaxy. Because I dion't think that any colony, on it's own, could resist what happened to Earth.
