for da portfolio (i hope this is pretty good? thoughts/comments/criticism please)

I've drawn birdies before, but only from pictures. (example)

Found this one at the doorstep of my friend's house after class. Poor guy accidentally smashed into the door (i assume) and broke his neck (definately).

Picking him up and holding him in my (latex-gloved) hands made me think so much of how fragile life really is v_v

How easily the brittle thread shatters and breaks.
The spool destroyed, released, ascends to heaven.

(don't ask me what kinda bird he is. I have no idea.)

Daily Deviation

Multimedia, when exercised with proficiency of skill and deference towards each component, can certainly produce wildly influential results, teasing and challenging perceptions for the eye and mind. spill by =atmosblue is just such an example; please enjoy. So i'm guessing you cut out of the piece of paper and then stuck the bits behind?

Whatever way you did it, very clever. And great use within the subject.

The picture makes more sense with the story. Especially the bold straight lines.
Great use of newspaper and magazine.but im not sure where the bird is..Is it on the ground still? Or is it at moment of impact?. not sure..great detail btw

ouch!! I feel for that poor birdie :( I really like the technique you used in this! it looks as if that poor bird was shot and left there to die :( it was really creative to use a paper collage to create the blood splat and the splat of blood on its face is what makes it clear that the poor animal is bleeding :( and is a little gruesome :noes: I also like the colorful background you did in this piece! what did you use? it looks kind of like a paint or well done colored pencil, the way it goes from lighter to darker could represent the lighting of the area or maybe the life of the bird slowly going towards the darkness of death :( this is a highly amusing piece andI can see why it got a DD  good work budd! you deserve it :D

I found a dead cat (a little white kitten actually, probably less than a year old.) in the road as I was driving one night. It was late, and the cat had just been hit and I wanted to pick it up and move it out of the road. On my way back I did.

It was already stiff, but it was still warm.
It was a very odd experience. It felt spiritual almost.

My grandma buried a dead possum one time. Then the next morning she found the hole empty.
The possum was playing possum. The next time she found a dead possum, she made sure it was dead before she buried it.
