Sitting on the bus
Going nowhere fast.
A long string of cars extends
As far as the eye can see.
I feel I should get out and walk.
I may just arrive at my destination quicker.
My stomach grumbles due to the breakfast I skipped
In order to catch the early bus.
I probably should have gotten up earlier,
But many a times I just don't care enough to do so.
Just sitting here
As part of the working world now.
A member of the daily commute
To earn my pay through labour.
Others may be going to school,
Or heading off to visit someone: a friend or a doctor.
All contributing to the never ending line
Of automotive transportation that extends along these asphalt pathways.
It's a never ending cycle
In our modern society.
The daily commute of the 9 to 5 workforce
Is what we'll experience for the majority of our lives.
