Bigotry is not Patriotism

I was having this discussion with a muslim friend of mine, she was telling me how she gets odd looks and things because she wears a “hijab” which is a head garment that many muslim women wear, some for tradition, culture etc. The hijab is the one that is meant to cover your hair but shows your face… well she told me that one day when on the train some idiot came up to her and said blah blah he is a real American and America was going to kill all of her family….

This is a Muslim girl who has plenty of family in the American military, and are very conservative when it comes to American politics…. I find this use of the term real American as an excuse to be a bigoted idiot…


I am sure plenty of people deal with this daily.

It seems my refusal to smear ALL Muslims as murderers means I am unpatriotic.

Sorry to tell you but smearing 1.6 billion people for the extremist views of several million is not patriotic, idiotic maybe.
….yes, I see all of the same studies that says a majority of Muslims are anti American and hateful….the same studies that admit they only questioned a few thousand and I am to use this for 1.6B people?

Want to show me that Islam is bigoted? And all of them are anti American… go question 1.6 billion Muslims, if 900.5M of them say they hate America .. then I will agree with your generalization. Since we generalize with use of a majority not a minority.

It also seems it is unpatriotic of me to think that citizens who happen to have been born homosexual should have the same civil liberties in regards to marriage and adoption as heterosexuals.

Granted, I find marriage useless and do not ever plan on being married, yet I still see no GOOD reason why someone should not be allowed to marry and have it recognized federally as heterosexuals in this country,


Yes, not all Muslim women wear the Hijab or any head coverings, that to me does not make them any more or less Muslim because they make that choice. To each their own, I say, as long as you are hurting no one - as they say.. do you!
