Late birthday present for my sister, who's birthday was last week. This is her dog and dumb pup Mickey, who's a sweetheart in all actuality. Long furred creatures are interesting to do and I'm sooo rusty with graphite. But I'm pleased with this and that it looks like him, so, overall it is good and I know she'll love it.

Oh my, look at all the pretty fur  This looks great! And good job on making it look like Mickey, the few times I drew individual animals for their owners, I always found that to be the hardest part.

 Thank you!

I think it's worse when you personally know the animal, because you feel like you should bring out their personality in the image. Sometimes I manage that, sometimes I don't. :/

You're welcome!

YES D: I drew a friend's dog a long time ago, and it was so hard to make it so that the artwork looked like her in specific, and not just any other old black labrador dog :stare:
So far everyone has told me "it looks just like her/him!" so I'm glad to know that, even if some times I don't agree xD If the owner is happy, that's what matters most!

YESSS.

My mother keeps reminding me; Most people aren't artists and don't actually see half the stuff you see is wrong with your drawings. All they see is you doing something they can't and they are amazed by it.

We are our own worst critics. As long as the person it's for is happy with it, you're right, that is what matters most!

Curse our eyes and brains for being such amazing critics :stare:
