Description
Zygocoryth live in medium to large herds that are usually led by a single animal.
These creatures have a coat of feathers that is dense enough for them to survive the harsh climate on the breathing ridge, but despite this they prefer living near the base of the mountains and will even travel all the way to the coast during cold seasons. The only time they will migrate up to the mountains is during seasons that are unusually warm, or to avoid predators.
Both males and females sport a brightly-colored crest upon their head, although the males have slightly brighter ones. This crest functions both for attracting mates and deterring predators. If this scaring tactic is unsuccessful they will rapidly shake the quills on their tails to create a rattling sound.
