Hi guys, it's been a while since I've posted any updates. Summer is coming to an end and the kiddos are back in school again. There hasn't been a whole lot of art from me lately. I've been busy enjoying the outside world with the dogs over the summer. We're pretty fortunate that we live right by the beach so on the really hot days it was still easy to be out with the dogs without worrying about over heating.
Last month we brought in a foster dog. She's a very shy girl but is settling into her retirement and home life well. It's really rewarding getting to watch her open up and show her personality.
Otherwise I've been pretty busy moving my breed @quirlicorns to its own website. Many kudos to any of you who do web design professionally or just as a hobby. I have wanted to bang my head against the wall or pull out my hair multiple times while trying to get the site set up in a way I could be pleased with. It still needs work and there's a handful of things I am not the biggest fan of, but little victories are important to celebrate none the less
Hopefully I'll have a bit more time for art again soon. I still have a larger commission that needs to be finished up but should be free to work on personal art again after. The cooler temperatures also mean more time spent at home, so with a bit of luck that will also help lead to more art getting done. To all of my new watchers, hello! Thank you for watching!
How are all of you holding up? How was your summer? Are you all coping alright during this pandemic and all the other madness happening in the world?
Dory wears goggles because she has light sensitivity. So it's basically the same as us putting on sun glasses to not have to squint in the bright sun.
Getting her to wear them comfortable didn't happen without some elbow grease though. We had to do training and get her comfortable with them etc. She's still not able to wear them when she's off leash so by today we started back at the basics to basically re-do her training so she'll be comfortable wearing them anytime.
Your puppers are looking amazing! I've found that our dogs are probably the only ones enjoying these crazy times we're going through, at least mine seem to be very glad for all the extra company and cuddles, though maybe also picking up on their owners' stress isn't that good.
The world sucks right now, I just spent the last 14 days isolated in my room only to find out that all the "extra time" I had to do stuff went to shit, because I was completely unmotivated to do anything the entire time. College starts next week, and I'm 99% sure we'll only have like 2-3 weeks of classes in campus before they decide to just have us stay home all the time like last semester. The number of cases is rising, so with schools and colleges opening again, things just aren't looking good at all :/
Oof! My mom had to isolate too. One of her friends came up positive for covid and my mom had seen her within the window of transmission time.
Are your classes going to be on campus??? That seems like such a bad idea. I'm really upset that the schools here reopened for in person too. Drake's school had to contact us today to tell us someone at the school tested positive. Thankfully we have the kids doing virtual learning but ugh, just so stupid to open schools like this!
Be safe <3
