Traditional Art Gallery Makeover Updated Proposals

Hello all,
A few days ago moonbeam13 announced that the CR team would be working on making over the galleries. Gallery Makeover Project
The goal of the project is to try and make the galleries less cluttered with redundant or unneeded categories.  At this point we'd like to take a quick look at our current category tree and see what we may be able to consolidate and this is where we need your input.

Sci-fi and Space Art Categories:
It should be noted that alltheoriginalnames looks after these subcategories and as such he is the go-to guy in regards to potential changes in them.  

Illustration
We very quickly realized that removing the current Illustration step within our category tree was not a good idea and that we should find a way to bring more emphasis on the illustration category within our category tree.  As a result we are currently looking at making Illustration a higher level subcategory (directly under Traditional art) and then dividing it up between drawings, paintings and mixed media respectively and then breaking it down further with the current subcategories but expanding Storybook to also include book covers and renaming technical to technical & scientific.  

Urban & Rural Category
We are wondering if it might be worth adding an Urban & Rural category to our category tree for clearer submitting for these types of pieces.  

Animals & Plants Category
We are debating if we should rename all current Animals categories to Animals & Plants, as it is named in our Mixed Media category.  This would help give more uniformity in our category tree as well as give a more defined category to submit your plant related art too.  

People & Portraits Category
With the feedback already provided by you all, it seems clear that merging the People and the Portraits & Figures categories into one category named People & Portraits is a good idea.  

Pyrography Category
We've been trying to figure out if we should have a Pyrography category in the Traditional Art category tree, or if those submissions should remain in Artisan Crafts> Woodworking and Artisan Crafts> Leatherworking> Other.  While we have gotten some really great feedback from the community so far it's still unclear what should happen with this as it seems there is a big divide in opinion as to where these pieces actually belong (Artisan Crafts or Traditional).  We'd love any extra input anyone is willing to give on this matter.  

Uniformity within Categories
By looking through our category tree we can see that paintings and drawings have the same sub categories but mixed media does not.  We need to figure out if we really need to add extra subcategories in these categories to match the subcategories in the tree.  So overall, I guess the question is, are there enough emotional drawings and paintings to warrant adding that category there, or enough surreal mixed media pieces to warrant adding that as well etc.
