Wow, the journal layout is so different from the last time I posted one. Anyway, just stopping in to say I'm still alive and kicking. I still check in from time to time, but haven't had much time for personal art lately. I hope you're all doing well.
Busy, busy...
I decided it was time to step down from volunteering. This month would mark 6 years on the team this time around and wow time has really flown!
Life has been pretty busy between work and my dogs, and DA unfortunately has been on the backburner for quite some time.
I very much enjoyed looking at all the suggestions I got over the years, and browsing the site for all the gems I was fortune enough to feature.
With the onslaught of of AI, finding DDs became increasingly harder. Every time I accidently clicked on one piece of AI, the algorithm would feed me more of them. I ended up not clicking on what was likely some really amazing art by very skilled artists out of fear it would be another AI piece. I really hated this a lot, but strived not to select AI as DDs.
Suggestions which were sent to me were so incredibly helpful, not just to help me see things that I maybe would have otherwise missed, but also to help clean the AI back out of my algorithm.

Personally I find your guidelines absolutely reasonable (except the same suggester one! 
). As far as replies go, I have to admit I'm personally put off when CVs don't reply at all. A generic thank-you is a bit better than no reply but still doesn't quite cut it. As far as replies go (mind you I realise you all already spend a whole lot of time trying to please and interest the community so you should by no means feel obliged to reply to every note) if there is one, I'd rather it be a yes/no type of reply and if no - why. That would help the suggester understand that CV's taste better as well as improve at analysing art. In fact seeing a yes-reply is a surprise in itself and it's never spoilt anything for me, let alone for the artist because I never tell them (and in any case I think it's selfish to go to the artist waving the see-I-suggested-your-stuff-for-a-DD-and-it-got-accepted flag). So a simple yes or no plus a warning not to tell the artist would be great imo. In fact I've stopped suggesting to some CVs exactly because they don't reply and they've never featured anything I've suggested which makes me think I've totally missed what they like/dislike and after a few tries I no longer feel like bothering. 
Everyone who has suggested or browsed dA for gems knows how time-consuming that can be as well as all the hassle of checking the artist's DDs, activity, etc, finding the right CV, re-reading their guidelines, writing why you like the piece (which never gets even featured anymore) so no reply can be extremely discouraging. If it wasn't for the few awesome CVs who always leave such heart-warming replies I'd have probably quit that whole business by now.
On another note, a Suggest for a DD button doesn't sound like the greatest idea for a couple reasons: first it will encourage people to suggest TOO much and not always pieces that are up to par. Imo that effort involved with the suggesting process ensures that the piece really has the wow-factor for the viewer. Also visiting the CVs' pages is always nice because they have all sorts of features and events going on there. It'd be a pity to lose that.
