Having good paper makes a world of difference. I used Arches paper for this one and it gives a lot more freedom to manipulate the paint than a lot of other papers do for me.
Very good advice, actually, and thanks for the rec. I have really cheap watercolors and not....real watercolour paper. Maybe that's why the medium frustrates me so much.
When I was younger in school we always used watercolors in art class but never used proper watercolor paper. I hated the medium so much! I can definitely say having the right tools makes a world of difference though. Even cheap watercolor paper is a huge step up from regular paper if you want to work with watercolors.
lol, it's a brand new set so there's still a lot of blue and purple ... it's also a set with extra blues and purples because I love blues and purples apparently :D
