I'm stubborn as hell and want to prove you really don' t need expensive materials. Here I have 250g student's watercolors paper from canson for 2 pounds, two brushes for 50p (both) and watercolors travel set for 5 pounds. Everything bought in a supermarket because art supplies shops are closed and I didn't want to wait for delivery. Sure they have their limitations but no super-expensive-German-quality-professionalen-meine-liebe-aquarelle will buy you the mastery of fundamentals.
