Seed of a new age [WIP]

To add colours I use 2 primary things, a base tone and then the individual colours which I indeed add with Overlay mode layers.
My base tone I often add through either the curves adjustment layer or colour balance or both. Usually before and after adding colours manually
I do quite a bit of colour editing in the later steps using different adjustment layers and other layers with blending modes.
