Prelude to Power

This episode... this finale, just like oh my GOSH.
MLP:FIM Season 4 soo good, soo sooooo good hehe.

Also this finale was so good, the title part "Prelude" is kinda because this is just the start  of what my mind has planned for me to cover on this episode.
As in, I'm going to try and cover the entire episode with multiple arts. My mind would just not accept I'd only make 1 piece though I did want 1 piece finished today.
See a little very rough preview of my plans:

Anyhow, thought I'd start out with where the main storyline actually seemed to begin.
Who would've guessed they would throw us back to Cerberus's appearance back then influencing this. That continuity is one of those great parts.

So much to say about this episode, I recapped the episode talking for 2,5 hours in my stream. I might actually upload that soon for those who want to give it a listen or something heh.

Hope y'all enjoyed this season and I'm sure will get through the wait for season 5 together!

Approx Time: 9-10 hours? if I take into account trying to match up the Battle scene with just about every song we could think of for more than an hour :XD: (It all fit a bit too well at times)

What aspects i like:

-loved the expressions on the characters. the right one seems dopey like he is questioning the event just by his facial expression. The other two seem to be more wiser and know what is going on.

-the story behind the picture is more complicated, the viewer has to piece together certain things just like the character is. This creates a sense of being in the same position as he is.

-The story is not straight forward, it is like a puzzle, the viewer realizes what's happened without it being present (you can't see him escaping but you know he has).

-picture quality is great as usual (the actual drawing)

What i think could be improved (sorry if I'm harsh or make mistakes):

-I can't really find anything wrong with it. To create something better would of just took longer and what you have drawn portrays the event well. So yeah, no flaws worth mentioning.

This is just one heck of an amazing piece of artwork you did based off the finale this past Saturday...

I love how you have Cerberus having returned to his duty since It's About Time to discover that, although the rest of the convicts were still there, Public Enemy #1 had somehow managed to escape his own shackles and made a break for it. Cerberus was both angry and worried at how Tirec had escaped, but knew he could not do anything about it as he still had to keep the other inmates imprisoned.

I'm certain that when Tirec was defeated, stripped of his ill-gotten magic, and sent back to Tartarus, this time imprisoned in small cell instead of shackles, Cerberus was ready to ensure he never escaped ever again...Maybe even consider eating Tirec in revenge for his cruelty in imprisoning the Princesses in Tartarus. That would show the other inmates the price for what happens when you make the mistake of sending innocent Princesses to rot in your stead.

I can't wait to see if you do more artwork of Cerberus...Maybe even with how he took care of the Princesses during their short stint in the slammer.

right head: he... Has escaped...
Left head: we must do something!
Middle head:... We can't.
Left and right: WHAT!?
Middle: by the time we find him, he'll be too powerful.
Left: oh dear celestia!
Right: not. Good.
Middle: *looks up at the sky and whispers* may the ancestors have mercy on us all...

Good ole Cerberus. It would have been neat to see him make an appearance in the finale.

Nice form and lighting on this one.

Intrigue, rage and confusion, I see those emotions in Cerberus. I don't know if you were going for that but if you were, nice!

Fanart is the best kind of art! I still wonder why, after season two, nopony noticed that Tirek was missing in Tartarus. I mean, he is not the kind of guy who goes unnoticed, is he?

Considering Cerberus is probably the only non inmate in Tartarus, he (seemingly) can't really speak any kind of pony languages, and he has to keep his post (least the other monsters escape in his absence). Once one manages to escape, I'd imagine it's relativley easy to go unnoticed.

And shouldn´t Celestia take count of the prisoners? I mean, if you have decided to seal in the same place the most vile criminals of your reign you should keep an eye on it. I guess.

the whole scene is really good!

Cerberus may have been worried or infuriated to discover Tirec had escaped, but at least once he was returned by the Magic of Friendship, Cerberus was ready for a little retribution over two things:

1. Tirec being cruel enough to imprison the Princesses in Tartarus.
2. Tirec busting out in the first place.

I think Tirec is going to be Cerberus' next meal, and that is the end of that monster.

That's some beautiful lighting you did there. I love how it just illuminates the entire room from the aura on the ground.

Nice job =)
