Wanted to get in the flow of doing some design work again. Or at least a piece focused primarily on it. So I decided to do something I did before with Contact Equines #1.
Some original character designs as concepts and possible use in my First Contact War universe.

It's fun exploring different things like this, colour schemes, hairstyles, coat patterns, eyes, outfits, proportions, and anything really. And hopefully they'll peek your interest as well in any of those elements. Perhaps it can inspire more designs. That's why I share all my art, so it doesn't get lost to just me, but may also aid others in their art, as I do also get influenced by the art I see around, myself.

Anyhow, hope y'all like these little nameless mares. (I do end up making a lot of mares)

Love the red/orange one's design, her hair is so neat! The blue one looks sparkly and very sweet. <3

Awesome work there AssasinMonkey. ^^

The third Mare, from the left, reminds me a bit of Pyrrah Nikos from RWBY. (Sorry if I spelled her name wrong. ^^;  )

All of these designs are wonderful. I especially love the one to the far right. I have a particular fondness for ponies with actual horse-type markings. She's so pretty and the sweater adds extra adorableness.

I can't imagine, how hard it would be, to make a flash puppet of the one on the right XD

haha true. Even if you'd just have to remake a painting of her, with all the dots and marks exact, would be a bit of pain. Let alone make something that moves :XD:

Звездная расцветка выглядит несколько нездоровой. Мне нравится, но она все равно слишком пестрая для лошадец, ИМХО.

The unicorn has a "WTF am I looking at?" look to her.

They're pretty, that's for sure. I especially like the red/orange one. I don't often see OC's with dots and freckles, so you'll likely inspire a few artists. I am not the biggest fan of them, but they can be pretty and we definitely could need more OC's like that!

It's amazing that you can make OCs that have better designs than many canon characters. These ponies have lots of tricky little details that somehow set them apart without looking ridiculous. Great work as always.
