Bonus addition for my Season 6 Episode Art!
Season 6, Episode 25&26: To Where and Back Again

Little additional piece for the finale, although my main piece was last week. But this design was quite interesting to show up, so I went ahead and tried it in the portrait style I had before at the beginning of this year. Although... it felt weird haha, he's so different than the other's I had made. No hair, the pincers/antlers, the colours, etc. But, it's a fun challenge.
Key to this style for me was to approach it in a single layer. This was all single layer, I just duplicated it for WIP purposes. I also didn't do any adjustment layers this time around. So just me and my brushy brushy, mostly.
Anyhow. They're interesting designs. I was tempted to make it very iridescent like a rainbow stag beetle, but I chickened out haha. I was trying to keep this pretty basic, not too complex. And something like that, is definitely tricky to get just right. At least in the amount that a Rainbow Stag Beetle has. Hence its name.
Approx Time: 5-6 hours
Photoshop CC

wow, it reminds me paintings done by rubens, rembrandt or bosch.
netherlanders are truely masters in renaiscance-like painting and you are just another proof of that
