Hello deviant fellas. It's been forever since I've been here. For a long time I have not been very creative but I'm picking some stuff up again. I'm trying to get a bit more into painting with acrylics. I've done one painting (which I've just uploaded) and am in the middle of two more. (One of these I've actually been in the middle for a long long time. well over a year). Tried for NaNoWriMo this year but didn't get more than one day into it (and didn't even make that day's goal) so I'm not sure it counts.

This Covid is a real kick in the nuts hugh? I'm not even sure how many of you are still with us :( but I hope you are all doing well. I also hope we will be able to take off this goddamned masks! Have I missed any covid art while I was away? (particularily some fun emotes?) I need to look into that. Anywho, so you all know i'm still around. I still have love for you guys. but if you haven't had your shots yet (and refuse to) then GO GET YOUR FUCKING SHOTS!

hugs and kisses and love from the "Island" (A.K.A. Israel A.K.A. where I'm stuck now).

P.S. if I've mentioned before I was planning an Ireland trip... yeah that got fucked up by Covid. I had tickets and a couple reservations before I had to do away with it  anyway. got to hurry to work now. Love.

Eddie.

New Project

3 min read

This is it. I'm starting the ultimate project... OK not ACTUALLY. I simply lack the knowledge and skill set to make it happen. So I've started learning and practicing. Trying to get myself up to par. In other words, to the point where I am confident I can do the ultimate project.

So, since you've asked, sorry but no details about the ultimate project itself except to say it has been rolling around in my head for many years and if I do manage to do it one of these days my life will not have been a waste. I will also mention that this is a mega project that will more than likely take over a decade to complete (realisticly). I know, you're thinking "NO WAY!" but hey... that is my best guesstimation. Of course the clock doesn't start running until I actually start the project itself. Who knows how long it will be until I am ready to comense. If at all. But even if it doesn't come to pass I am learning and gaining tools which I can use for other, more realistic projects along the way.

I can also say that it combines many art forms including drawing, writing, 3D modeling and many others. so, wish me luck. I'll need as much as I can get.

On a sadder note, I have failed most miserably my 2020 NaNoWriMo (having stopped 3 days into the challenge :( ) and my programming endeavors I was working on prior to November are still on hold as I take first steps to this new and most exciting project. One of my biggest ditractors is, quite obviously, my lack of endurance AKA my inabillity to comit and finish any project.

On a happier note, as I learn and hone my skills, I will, hopefully, be able to upload more art to dA (which I have not done in quite a long while). As always I do appreciate any critique on my work that can help me along, and now more than ever. Remember, I am not so fragile, so as long as your comments are meant to help, don't commense words. I shall not break nor shall I hurt you for trying to help. I still love you all   .

P.S.

I hope you are all well and safe during this troubling covid time. Remember, even if you are stuck alone at home, your art can set you free!

Hello fellow Deviants. Have you missed me? Haven't been in for a very long time but I'm trying out NaNoWriMo again this year and have come here to what once was my favorite site to say hello. Hope you are all well. This covid is a real pain in the ass.

Haven't been writing at all for quite some time. Or drawing or painting...

Been programming more. Been working on an app to log NaNoWriMo progress. So far it kinda works but too buggy. Not sure if and how and when I might release it to google play but not for this year's NaNo which has just begun! more updates later. love to you all and best wishes.

Stay safe and creative.

your favorite Noodlebug Aspy.

I'm off to work in a few minutes so i'll be brief.

Line equations are finally complete. It runs smoothly and beautifully. I'm onto the last two visuals: color overlay which requires some sophisticated mathematical considerations and fadeout which should be fairly simple once I find out how to implement it in code. Busy time at work so I don't know how much time I'm going to be putting into this project. Hopefully I'll be back to it soon.

As always, if you have questions, feedback, ideas, or are just interested in the possibility of using this program once it is complete please let me know.

Yeah so not much progress I'm affraid. It's been a week. Most of it I didn't spend working on the program. Wasn't feeling quite up to it. The weekend I've spent on the math of the line I encountered problems with last week.
After careful computations I rewrote the line's code and once I fixed a strange bug that took some time to find out how to deal with (and I never got to figure out why it was happening or why the fix worked) the line seemed to work. But once I tried to move it off the center it went haywire. As far as I can tell the line equation is being computed properly but retrieving values from the line in order to draw it to screen is where it malfunctions. I now think I know what the problem is. A stupid mathematical mistake: using my "n" value which is relative to the image without compensating for the difference between the position of the image and the axes origin. I shall attempt to fix that and see if it solves the problems but not at the moment. I've had enough debugging for one day and it's another busy day at work tomorrow ('cause my weekend, alas, is coming to a close again. Wow time really is going by fast).

As always, if you have questions, feedback, ideas, or are just interested in the possibility of using this program once it is complete please let me know.
