Afternoon...

"Afternoon...greeted the spruce.

The green unicorn remained still, his horn glittering beneath the rivulets of sunlight that dripped through the trees from the midday sun.

Unlike his child's, his horn curved at a downward angle and his color explained the reason why he had never been seen by anything before. Not even his reflection in the water could see him properly and no wayward maiden had either for that matter. It would seem only the trees and plants could see him long enough to utter a word to him in passing. Yet even they did not truly see what they saw, the greenery did not have eyes, but they did feel the wisp of his cloven feet.

The unicorn continued on without a destination in mind, leaving moss in his wake."

I've always wanted to write books and the illustration part too, did that when I was a kid. I remember one time watching a bunch of animal shows on AP and specifically remember drawing out a bunch of giraffes corresponding to facts (ex. Giraffes have long tongues to reach leaves, etc) then stapling all the pages together. Apparently my mom has them still somewhere...who knows.

Anyway, haven't gotten much done on this story, as much as I rant about loving unicorns I'm too busy drawings horses and dogs instead ~

This character is Nonnus, he isn't new, but this is his first time his finished design has made it onto DA.

You cannot see it that well, but he has a few white markings on his face (more like faded green): a snip on his nose and some elliptical marking around the base of his horn...he also has stripes on all four limbs and fur from his elbows...will be in ref sheet.

Originally, he was going to be a multitude of colors and his eyes and horn were going to be gold, but I thought, heck, that wouldn't be natural at all! (I'm totally aiming for realism right ) My unicorns are not really white...actually, I only have one...or two...but that is because they live in tundra/arctic areas.
