Urchin satellite by askoi Urchin satellite by askoi
This lovely shot of my sculpture "Urchin" was taken by amazing Seattle photographer Ken Wagner.

I think it looks like it's flying through space. I want to see the cel phone that talks to that thing. XD Maybe I'll make it.

Thank you to :iconmrsoles: for ferrying the little guy to get his picture taken!

Original entry for sculpture itself with explanation of materials, etc.

ETA: The photograph itself is available for sale as a print, which is why there is a watermark. I'm not sorry the watermark is there and find it barely noticeable. There are several other images of the *object* in my gallery; if you check my journal you can see them. Replies regarding it will be hidden and ignored. I have better things to do and so do you. :)

Oh no he's a very happy little guy, actually. He likes to roll around on his spines... I took a whole series of stills of him posed on different sections of his spines which I need to turn into an animation. :)

No problem....That thing would be an epic satellite! My dad works on them (satellite tech) and if that were his companies, they'd rule the world! =D

It's also an allusion to poor orphans on the street... urchins. Like all the kids in "Oliver Twist". Double meaning, lol.

Reference. Not that you couldn't have looked that up in any number of online English dictionaries.
