Neptune 1989 Texture Map

This map of Neptune was created using images taken by the Voyager 2 spacecraft in August 1989 from a distance of approximately 10 million km.

History

February 22, 2021: map details by AI and color realism. The main color is determined from the Neptunian spectrum in my program TrueColorTools, referenced to [2].

Neptunian clouds

This additional texture can have several uses. For example, in Celestia Origin it is used as a normal map to give the clouds a relief.
