Finderbar for Vista tutorial

This is Landvermesser's Finderbar, hosted by DA user Cyazian, application for Windows XP SP2 running on my Vista machine. It can be done, and it works relatively well. To use this app on your Vista machine, do the following steps:

1. Download Finderbar 1.5 and install.

2. Navigate to the shortcut in your start menu, then right click on Finderbar_Engine. Select properties. In properties, click on the compatibility tab. Check the "run this program..." box and make sure Windows XP SP 2 is selected. Hit apply.

3. Doubleclick on Finderbar_Engine to launch the application. Once it is launched, right click on the finder anywhere and select "Skin It!" This will make the program match the rest of your taskbar.

4. Right click on your desktop and select "Personalize." Click on "Window Color and Appearance." Select "Graphite" then move the slider all the way to the right. Apply the changes.

You should be done!

Note: You may have trouble with the font, it may appear transparent or very light. This is because of the msstyle file on Vista. At this point, I have no fix.
