"Look at this map. You can see detailed real-time information of the place nearby us.
This is the precious item that tells safe roads, dangers, and hidden places.
See moving pictures? Never seen something like this, eh?"

"Wow. What is this hole of emptiness? We should never go that place."

"Ah, I slipped candle over there."

...and corruption took this place afterwards.

Concept arts should be handled with utmost care.

He didn't slip. There is an Island there where a Lovecraftian Horror is trapped, and not only looked it grotesque, it has a giant Eye that follows the person using the Map and trying to force the person looking at it to go there and release it.

A map so lovely one would follow it almost anywhere ... except, perhaps, into trouble!:D

huh, according to this note, that island in the burn spot is right where we need to go to find the one and only thing that can save everyone and bring about world peace and prosperity... hope there's nothing overly dangerous there to get in our way.

And when the map rolls up so does the world it shows. Then possible to travel to distant lands just by digging a three foot deep hole. Does anyone else feel like they living inside a tightly wrapped crepe? That’s why...

Great piece as always and I love the description. It's like I'm reading Terry Pratchett riff on the idea of "Illustrated Man".
