I did this late at night. I dreamed of Menger Sponges. And uh... yeah. Weird stuff happened in the dream I'd rather not go into. But... yay!
Just a low fidelity test before I make a 1080p version. That'll take... QUITE some time to render so... it won't be a flash 1080p (I'll make a flash thing of this size, maybe). It'll be a YouTube video.
It's a bit drunken, but it's my first ever fractal zoom, so I'm still getting used to the "flight control" thing. Then again, this is very close to what it would be like if I was actually flying through a fractal as the Pterofractal.
Menger sponges seem to render the quickest over any other default fractal on my computer. I was thinking of disabling SSAO, but it wouldn't look nice.
Um...what in the world is a menger sponge...and all these fractals you've been talking about?
Just look at my gallery. See the pictures with all the squares and stuff? That's a Menger Sponge. A fractal is, in the simplest layman definition, an infinitely intricate geometric shape that, when you magnify a small part of it, it's similar to a larger or smaller part.
