I'd been calling this the living room, but for some reason last night while I was putting the furniture in and rendering, it said lounge to me.

In keeping with the TOS budget idea, paintings are the same from the other rooms, but the pattern is slightly different. The 'space' scene beyond the windows is a simple large 'painted' backdrop, much like they used for the planetary sets in the series. I think I'll have to tinker with the lights on the underside of the stairs. They're not nearly as bright as I'd hoped and I think I'm getting some unintentional light spill.

And I just realized I'd meant to put a plant or two in the corners.

Built in Truespace 3.2
Rendered in DAZ Studio 4.10 with iRay

There are old pilots and there are bold pilots but there are very few old, bold pilots.

I'm in the older category when it comes to my hobby. I stick with what I know and like to use. ;)

Thanks very much and will do!

Mwa ha ha. Soon Captain. Quite soon.

Thanks!  Glad you approve! I got busy at the old house tonight so I couldn't get more imported. So I just tossed a few characters in to test the lighting. :)  Should be able to post the test tomorrow morning :)

Take all the time you need. I'm working on other pages of this off the wall Star Trek novel.
I may need to come up with some entry for you....

Captain Ashely last seen running naked down a blue tinted TNG hall chasing holographic kittens and Budweiser toads.

Bud...wise....rrrrr.   (You know you can hear it in your head.)

give me a bit, I'll come up something better.

Thanks!  I was worried because I haven't really built furniture before. Not from a concept anyway.

Awesome!  I like this far better than the 'Ready Room'.  Just fantastic!

All part of the same set. ;) Some rooms came out much better than others, but each has a very different function.  Fun fact, if this stateroom were built on Stage 9 in the Desilu era it'd have taken up Sickbay, the Transporter Room, the Briefing room, part of the quarters set and a huge chunk of corridor. It's a BIG set of rooms.

Thanks!  It's been a fine balance of getting that TOS aesthetic down, but it's definitely been worth it!
