Rupert Street Fire 1 by ash Rupert Street Fire 1 by ash
I took Tuesday off to meet Paul ~khalil in town, his last day in London before jetting off back to Cape Town. Arriving at Piccadilly Circus by tube I was in two minds whether to change lines and take the tube to Covent Garden (where I was meeting Paul) or hit street level and walk. Fortunately sanity prevailed and I decided to walk. Strolling up Shaftesbury Avenue, I glanced up Rupert Street to my left and saw this building gushing smoke and the road closed off and full of fire trucks and firemen.

that angle is awesome.... the black and white makes the picture a lot moodier (i'm sure)... the smoke adds an awesome effect. Makes the picture hold a surreal quality.

nice work.

Great... Has an old feeling to it, like something out of early last century. I guess that's just London. =P (Razz) But the way the smoke catches the light and contrasts with the building and lamp post is nice.

Gotta love it when a simple decision turns out to make a great difference (towards the better side of the scale, in this case).

I love it when you capture things in time like this... you just can't set it up, well, I suppose you could but arson isn't good... lol.
