I really like how everything seems to be zooming out from a center point just around the corner of that building. Very atmospheric and it lends a feeling of hiding in the shadows, peeking into the light.

Last comment for tonight... I've gotta get to sleep soon. More tomorrow, probably. ;) (Wink)

Reckon the car was slowing down to a stop at the intersection. I'm pretty sure it was 1/20, because I was conscious that I was breaking "the rule" about shutter speeds and lens lengths for handheld shooting. I also expected the car to blue more than it did though. You're right about the exposure: the shot was metered automatically using the EOS's 35-zone metering, which usually does a good job, but I think here it has not. It got another shot nearby totally wrong, for what that's worth. There's no good reason (except inexperience) why I didn't spot meter it anyway.

LOL blankperception. If only you knew how close a bar called Kudos was from that picture :-) (Smile)

I see what you mean about the darkness Ash but I wouldnt worry if I were you, there are things about this picture that I really like and the composition is nice. I think you may have been metering on the lighter areas of the shot and that may be the cause of losing the shadowed areas here. It must have been v dark near to 10pm and theres not too much motion on the car so the shutter speed cant of been that slow ??? We need Ansel Adams advice ;-) (Wink)
