Buckhorn Hall of Horns by ash Buckhorn Hall of Horns by ash
The bar at the Buckhorn Hall of Horns, San Antonio, Texas, which features "the world's largest collection of horns and antlers". No, really.

really like this shot. it's outstanding. it's a little spooky...and i can imaging sitting in that environment would be very surreal indeed: surrounded by decapitated animal heads and so many antlers...very cool image.

Wow, disgusting as hell, but it's still a good photo. The best photos are the ones that evoke strong emotions in you, and in the case of your journalistic photography, the more documentative and real it is, the better.

That being said, the emptiness of the bar and the uniformity and repetition to the chairs, grid of tiles, and taxidermy is is interesting. Contrast is great, and you've once again succeeded in creating 'controlled chaos'.

Mm. I need to go back to working in black and white. I've been mucking around with color for the hell of it, but more and more I'm seeing how much I miss this other medium. Thanks for inspiring me, Ash.

seeing walls like that make me wonder if the heads ever hold conversations with each other.

Wow - what an amazing pic - this is really great. Love the heads and how the lights are trying to blend in with the scenery. Also - the fact that it's empty (is this a working bar???) gives it an eerie feeling of an old saloon bar in a ghost town.

i don't think i could drink at that bar...
...all those fake eyes staring at you from dead heads
ack...pretty unsettling...
...though it does create a setting for a most interesting shot

I think the heads of all of those animals, and the darkness of this photo, go well together. The sight of a Texas bar remind me of how I never got into that country scene.
