Blackfriars Road by ash Blackfriars Road by ash
These two shots were taken on the same road. Some local kid came up and asked me why I was taking a picture of that building, so I told him that I liked the look of the tree, and the way the leaves lay on the steps. He looked at me strangely and walked away.

A very nice photo. You are right the tree and the leaves on the doorstep make it quite an interesting picture.

i don't know why i have this thought, but it seems to me like the tree has taken all the life from this house, from the tenants.. or maybe trying to...
i like the picture cause it seems mysterious to my eyes and mind

Kong and I generally share the same opinions so I'll just say that I know what you mean about people giving you odd looks. It's worse when you're downtown and people walk/drive by and just stare, lol, "what the hell is that guy doing???"

Cheers ash, haven't sneezed on you in a while...

hehehe.... Time to haul ass out of here!

i think that's by far one of the best descriptions, or, way of saying why you chose a photograph, i've ever seen.

now, moving on :) (Smile)

I love the off center nature of both, allowing you to capture both the tree, and its fallen members ;) (Wink)

as always, technically your photo is perfect, but then again when have you not had one.

Incredible contrast

I like the lopsidedness to the right, with the curved tree adding to it... :) (Smile)

Lovely... intricate detail, nice contrast, and wonderfully arranged. Nice work.

Hahahahaha. Wonderful story behind.
You know, I have less problems now that I'm shooting people rather than when I practise architecture photography. A guy with a big tripod who spend 10 minutes around the camera is more worrying than a invisible and quick hunter, of course. The owners of the buildings always ask me if I work for the municipality and they often assure me that their buidings are regular with taxes and laws. That's really funny! Architecture photography seems to be really invasive.
