The Color of Quiet by Ascynd The Color of Quiet by Ascynd
Djehuti was as pleased as he could be when he learned that he could choose what class to take ahead of time. That gave him a couple of weeks to study up on the subject he'd be learning beforehand. To learn on his own from books would have been difficult at best, but combining his reading with Mrs. Netty's expert tutelage made the transition from book knowledge to practical technique smooth and relatively easy. Before he knew it, through patient concentration and dilligent attention to his homework, Djehuti was able to discern not only something so quiet as the flicker of a candle flame out of the silence, but even the tiny high-pitched buzz of the lumibug's vibrating antennae.

Meanwhile, nature was doing a number on his still changing form. As if the clumsy transition to biped hadn't been awkward enough, he was now sprouting pinfeathers on his wings and tail, as well as horn nubs on his head. This, as well as some jealousy for the ease with which he seemed to learn (at least, that's what he told himself), left Djehuti open to some teasing. Not that he minded though, he couldn't be bothered to worry about that. He was too preoccupied with the self assurance that one day, he would be a masterful Wyngro wyzard!

Tried a challenging pose... it came out a bit awkward, but so is Djehuti, and I was running out of time, so I rolled with it.

Bwahah. Yep, some lessons will come easy, others will be more difficult... this one seemed like something he'd be a natural at.

Thanks, I'm still getting a handle on those biped proportions and anatomy. =D
