Squiby: Istarian Stonejaw by Ascynd Squiby: Istarian Stonejaw by Ascynd
The first of the Istarian dragon series I'm making for Squiby. The different types of Istarian dragons are not so much species as they are breeds, with a lot of variation among each type. The 'stonejaw' is so called because of its short but powerful jaws, capable of shearing through timbers with a single bite. This is the 'default' coloration, all Istarian dragons come in a dazzling array of colors and markings.

Inspired by the dragons of Istaria: Chronicles of the Gifted.

You can adopt one here...

You mean the frost heritor? The hints are on the first page of my species thread. There's a link to the thread in my squiby profile. :)

Thanks! So far I have this and a cobalt w/ red spots version done, and an adult of the great-beak variety (still needs a hatchling and egg), but I'll load up one or more of the stonejaws once I have the species thread done. Which is what I'm making all these 'spoilers' for.

Any plans for the finhead and/or curlyhorns?

Yeah I've got a hatchling sketched done for the frills using the same pose as the hatchling stonejaw. The adult will have a different pose. I've plans for all of them but there's no telling how long it'll take me to finish them all, there's so many!

Yeah, it's definitely a big undertaking. Good luck! :)

Not a demand or even a request for this to be done any time soon, but I'd love to be able to adopt an all-black finhead with the same colour of eyes as this stonejaw's hatchling form. ;D

Potentially, though I can't duplicate every pattern perfectly and scale types are too small of a detail to work out, but I should be able to get pretty close with most. =)

Hehe, I'm planning on doing the others, too... but it will take awhile to get them all done. Especially with markings and belly scute variants. It's all vector though, so once I have the pieces and parts done, I should be able to put them together like paper dolls.

Currently they only go up to Adult, later I may add on an Ancient level, once I get some evolution credits to put on them and design good enough ancient forms.

They're amazing besides...I want to try making adoptables, but when I resize them, they go to psffffft. :p The skywing on my page was supposed to be the adult stage...
