Silver Wyrmling by Ascynd Silver Wyrmling by Ascynd
You know it's been too long since you did anything in traditional media when you screw up and immediately look for the undo button.

Silver dragon neonate D&D 3.x edition. Murdered first by scanner and then by a lot of shrinking and subsequent sharpening. Scanner hates traditional media.

Hmm well, his mother was young, and a war with an ancient white ended with her missing and the nest unattended. It was then raided by frost giants, who stole the eggs and as much of the treasure as they could carry. His egg got lost when they fell to arguing and he hatched alone. After wandering and getting into various misadventures he ran across a tribe of humans that was loyal to his family, and one of their great warriors helped him to track down two of his lost siblings and rescue them. By then his aunt showed up and took the lost hatchlings in to raise them, but this one refused to stay put, insisting there was one last sibling still out there. He eventually found out what happened to the last one, but that's where the story left off.

Love this!  I've been playing a silver wyrmling for two years.  Never liked the art for them done by wizards.  Yours is much less cartoon like while still giving it the "cute" baby dragon feel.  Great job even if it didn't turn out to your liking :)  its still better than anything else i've seen so far!

Thanks! I don't draw often enough, I need more practice... wonder if I should upload the version of this that I colored. I'm not sure it's finished as it still looks a bit flat to me.

So cute! I have both Draconomicon books (chromatic and Metalic, not sure if there are ones for Planar, Catastrphic and Scourge Dragons...), and love just reading them, ive probably read cover to cover of both books at least 6 times X3 D&D dragons are great.

I like yours better than the pic in the book tho ^^

Thanks, I only just recently saw some new silver dragon images, it's the first time I've seen anyone else do a wyrmling too, but I like how theirs looks a little more immature. It gives me the idea to shorten the horns on mine and darken the color a bit, but that is a project for another time. ;)

I wonder if my phone camera would be good enough, lol

that depends on the resolution that images are with the phones. Now days you just might be able to if you have the right (or new) phone. My camera is 8.2 mega pixels, so the images are pretty big.

I think so too, although I haven't had much of a look at the 4.x edition versions... I wonder if they more resemble the 2.x types, hehe

Hehe, newly hatched silvers are actually pretty little for dragons... about like a medium sized dog perhaps? And one of the most likely to accept hugs. =)
