OotG: Fairweather Shadow by Ascynd OotG: Fairweather Shadow by Ascynd
It's big.

I decided to try and work out where the horns would go on a male griffin from :iconjenosavel:'s game. They're not as big as the ones she depicted and probably not in the same place, but I kind of like how they turned out. I posed him this way just to show them.

~ Poser 7, DAZ griffon, RawArt's brown hawk texture (modded by me), Armory Stand from RDNA. ~

Thanks! I wish now that I'd thought of bending the wing feathers a bit but oh well, I'll save that idea for the next one.

I think that's the only time I've seen that Griffin look almost photo real. Awesome work, and love the horns!

Thanks! It's a nice model... would be nicer if it had some flex morphs for the feathers, but maybe I could do that with magnets. =)

If you moved them a little more onto the shoulders it seems like that would be the proper place compared to the images from the game. And even though they do look small compared to the depicted image, it still looks very nice. And he looks very proud too. XD

I like it a lot, where did you get these textures? :o

The texture can be found on ArtZone where the griffin is too... it is normally brown, but I changed it to black and altered the bump and shine a lot on the front legs and the eyes. The model does not normally have horns, I added those. :)

ArtZone.com? Cool you can get all that stuff.
Btw, do you have specific points on the dragons' anatomy to say when a dragon is cool, or well created?

It's mostly a matter of preference... anatomy wise though, when you look at an animal you can get a good idea of the lie of their muscles and bones. If this looks believable on a dragon model too, that is good. Also, I like wings that can show a good billow from the air, and attach to the body somewhere lower than the armpits. The millennium dragon is bad for this. The subdragon is a little better, but :iconswiddy: has made some very nice wings for the mil dragon that I use often.

What about their legs or claws? Do you think is a weight point on dragons and perhaps the most of reptiles?

Well every part is important, and feet are often overlooked... you know you have a good model if even the small details on it are well made. One thing done very badly can weigh down a good model, meanwhile one good detail won't necessarily redeem a bad one. ;)

Thanks, I got lazy with the background since I was focusing on other things, but I kinda like how it came together anyway. :)
