Nekomata by Ascynd Nekomata by Ascynd
Surprised I hadn't posted this one here but I went through my gallery and couldn't find it. I'll have to rework it with a transparent background later, I lost the original frame and will have to rebuild it from scratch.

Here's the info I gave this image for our Shadowrun campaign:

"An Awakened paraspecies of the common housecat (felis catus), the Nekomata, or Japanese forked cat (felis bifurcus) resembles its progenitor species, but is somewhat larger and posesses a forked or double tail. Fur color can typically be any common to housecats, but calico occurs frequently. Nekomata are highly intelligent and exhibit a range of paranatural abilities... most notably animation and control of inanimate objects, as well as various illusory powers. Rumors of Nekomata assuming metahuman form, devouring metahuman corpses, and growing to sizes exceeding 2 meters in length persist, but are unconfirmed."

Just looking at them, most might have trouble classifying them as monsters... but they really are. Malicious little fraggers. :P

I think I did this back in Poser 6, but I'm not sure.

I take you had a 3D program over this one - Can you make the edge around the cat more furry? There's a spot on the back and the legwhere it looks SO GOOD. More of this and you have a perfect picture.

Good job

Yeah this is an older one from back when I was first learning to paint fur on... I still have the original base without all the fancy stuff added to it and I might add more fur later when I rework it with a transparent background. Thanks!

Personally, I think all cats are evil. You did a great job of a subtle malice in the eyes. I would say fantastic work.

Thanks! I based him off of a cat I had that passed away a few years ago. He had such an odd head and body shape...

Hehe...

These cats are as smart as people, and at best are sociopathic tricksters... at worst they're sadistic sociopathic tricksters. They particularly like to torment (and possibly murder) anyone that harms or kills a cat. ;)
